Potty Training - Day 3

Well, we're 3 days into it and things are progressing... Although slower than I liked, as I had a vision of our super daughter understanding us and getting it in no time flat. This of course was not helped by Myrna's myths she told of Cara being trained in a day. As Cara has noted, she can understand why parents give up after a couple of days.

The key is that we are learning too. Teresa's pee cue is non-verbal, as she grabs her (as she says) 'gi-nah' and we have to rush to pull off the panties and get her on the potty. Every day has gotten better with fewer (and smaller) accidents. She is a stubborn kid though - today after her nap (and her diaper was bone dry) I put her straight on to the potty, and I fed her a pile of liquid and she still didn't go for an hour and a half! Once she went though, she was giving the pee cue every 5-10 minutes after that. Cara had a great idea of giving her her after pee reward on the potty, as teresa sometimes does not finish what she starts. Every day gets better though, so all hope is not lost.

No pictures of her on the potty reading a book? It worked for us. All of you were trained in about a month each but you weren't miserable about it.

Ummm.... Dad, I hate to suggest that being 60 might make one senile or something, but did you not look 1 post lower first? Ah well...

Ken, he *did* have the Colonel Fogbrain nickname from teenagerhood onwards, I don't think we need to point fingers at a birthday to explain this one :-)
