We Have Audio!

Not to get too techy, but I had to convert the video & audio to a new format to make it work...

This morning...

Teresa decided that she needed to put her boots on over her pyjamas, so Helped her out of her PJ's and then she got some help with her boots... Cara said this was too cute to not take a picture of.

Teresa Eats With Mommy & Daddy

Sometime this week (well, maybe it was last weekend I am not too sure) we have permanently moved Teresa out of her high chair and she now sits at the dining room table. We are also now trying to feed her our food at all mealtimes, and she is doing pretty well with that too. She is not a big fan of soup yet, but is coming around slowly on a number of foods... She is learning that no matter how long she throws a fit for (YAY!) she won't get something else, slowly but surely... Teresa has, at times, a voracious appetite. Yesterday morning I brought Teresa to the St. Charles Men's Association breakfast meeting, and she ate a ridiculous amount of food (especially considering she had already had her breakfast 2 hours prior and this was supposed to be snack time). She put back half an orange, a quarter of a Belgian waffle, a couple of sausages along with some apple crisp & ice cream for dessert... I had to stop eating before she did!

We have also been getting ready to go to Minneapolis next weekend, as Cara has picked up a few books to keep her amused. That means that hopefully we can finish her room by buying every cute thing that Ikea has there. To help fund the trip, Cara took 3 days of subbing this week, which isn't a huge deal as with the weather the way it is (snow fell and below zero again) I am in the house to help clean... Except of course of nights where the Habs play.

Anyhow, here are some pictures of her at the dining room table eating wieners & potato wedges with us... This is a big deal, as she used to hate potatoes of any type passionately (which caused Cara much stress).

Just a quick note...

I forgot to mention that on Sunday Teresa skinned her knees for the first time. She was running up the walk and tripped and got some scuffs. We didn't take pictures. Sorry.

A few pics...

Teresa stripped down to her diaper in the basement...

Note how Cara dressed her in Bleu, Blanc & Rouge for tonight! 5-0!! I personally would like to thank Mr, & Mrs. Kostitsyn for having two wonderful children :)

Weekend Yardwork...

Well, we had quite a busy weekend... It began Saturday morning with Teresa, Rowdy & I running around the Charleswood dog park for an hour and a half. After that Teresa & I raked in the backyard for over an hour. I should note that I hate thatching, and that Teresa wanted to rake, but couldn't and she helped out by throwing a few handfuls of grass into the bin. As a side note, we have been going into the park a whole lot more lately and seems to like the slide and the swing.

I finished the raking Saturday afternoon, and my back is still sore from it. Have I mentioned I hate thatching? Saturday night we had Larry & Lorraine Franz over for dinner and Teresa was (as always) on her best behaviour.

Sunday we had church and then I hand washed the van, once again with Teresa's help. Teresa got in the way of the water jet as often as possible. She also went next door when I had to drop off the window washing supplies I borrowed...

CUTE ALERT! Presently Teresa is sitting in one of her toy drawers... Also, she seems to be knowing her colours and some animals a whole lot better.

Beyond that there is not too much more to report... I type this in the 1st intermission with the Habs up 1-0.... I am nervous!

The Deed is Done...

Teresa is now (as I type) napping in her bed. Last night she went to sleep in a short period of time (~15 mins) of crying (her, not us). Today while Cara was at her meeting, I went to WalMart & bought a new step stool so Teresa can get into bed, as the one she made in High School tips over a little too easily. We then went to the dog park in her new rubber boots and she had fun watching the dogs ply for half an hour.

Beyond that, I should point out in the previous set of pictures the one with Teresa flopped in the path of the conservatory was of one of her patented hissy fits. She either stamps her feet and runs to a corner or she flops onto the ground...

Now for a few pictures...

Getting used to her bed by playing in it...

Not actually napping, just paying with the Afghan great-grandma Kehler made for her.

Playing peek-a-boo

I snuck in last night and took a few pictures with the tripod. Even with 1 second of exposure, the picture required serious to make her show up. Look for the stripes in the left hand side of the bed, sleeping 90 degrees rotated from the normal.

Wait a second....when did she get so big?

So today is the day we put Teresa in her big girl room. Teresa will be fine with this, Teresa is fine with anything it seems. The problem here is Ken and I, who promised each other we would not wimp out. We'll see, but I think we can do it. Are we being silly...perhaps. Overly sentimental, most certainly. I find myself looking at her nursery (now empty of all things Teresa) and remembering those sweet days of expectation, when we were waiting (impatiently) to meet the person who would occupy this room. We are now moving her into the room that she will occupy until she moves out. I think my main problem is that there are times when I look at her and still see this:

So the best thing to do is just get her into that room ASAP, no dawdling.

In other news, we went to the conservatory last saturday, and Teresa had a great time running around, touching and smelling everything. The hilarious thing was that she would bend down, sniff whatever, then say mmmmm. Some of these plants do not have a scent, so I'm wondering what she thinks she's supposed to smell? If I were a cruel parent, I would test this out with something stinky, who am I kidding, I probably will. The following are pictures of a cute Teresa, turtles, fish and some cool plants. We will post pictures of the new room soon.

More Random Teresa Pictures...

Well, here are a few more pictures from the past few weeks... Have I mentioned that Spring Break seems way too short? I blinked and missed it. I got to bring Teresa to the dog park and we went to the Conservatory at Assiniboine Park on Saturday. We have many pictures from that but I think I will ask Cara to blog them for us.

As for these pictures. The first set is of Rowdy & Teresa. We got a free plush cat for Rowdy to chew on & destroy when I went to a Moose game with Wally a few weeks back. Rowdy did a number on it, and Teresa tried to help him destroy it & clean up after him. Cara got these pictures when I was at work.

The next set involves Teresa 'napping' on Cara. She choose the position you see in front of you, and stayed there for about ten minutes until she was ready to nap in her crib.

Easter Candy Redux

Well, I know a number of people wanted to know about the filthy daughter and what came of it... Literally moments after I shut off the video (and yes dad, I did know it was going to be cute and I didn't want to have to hold the camera for 10 minutes so I tripoded it) Cara walked through the door. I was honest and told her exactly what Teresa did & why. Lying wouldn't be a good choice as it was going to be blogged... I decided that I needed a shower anyhow, so I brought Teresa in to the shower with me and we got cleaned up. She is not a huge fan of showers, but she was getting used to it near the end. Beyond that there isn't too much to report. Her room is 95% complete and the dishwasher is 99% installed. Pictures will be posted when it is all done.

Here are a couple more pictures of her enjoying chocolate...

First, she eats a Bernard Calebault (sp?) chocolate bunny on a stick, courtesy of grandma Friesen (& grandpa too I guess)...

Now, for some of the pictures of her & the Flapper Egg. The last one is us ready to shower and get clean...

Happy Birthday(s)... [kinda]

Well, today is Cara's birthday, and I was negligent in mentioning Teresa 'turning' one and a half on the 27th.

Cara already got my gift which included a silver Miraculous Mary medallion, and Jeremy Fisher's latest CD (apparently buying using iTunes isn't nearly as nice as a physical object) along with a planned trip to see him play with the Proclaimers in Minneapolis in early May. Spring Break is great, except for all the darn painting & other household work / cleaning we have to do. Today involves a dishwasher.
