Well, Teresa is 5 months old now and I have the privilege of being parent for the 2nd consecutive night as Cara has been out. I just finished reading her a story & putting her to bed. Cara took her 5 month pics today, so I figured I would post them. By the way, if someone needs access to YouTube stuff, email me at kjyost@gmail.com
Some of the pictures are from about a week ago, when we figured she outgrew a cute outfit she never really wore, as she had no need for it, and one of her playing with a hand puppet (as seen in the OscarTM nominated short "Teresa Flipping").
I took some time during the Oscars to cut it. It is a pretty big file (6+ minutes, 30 MB UL to YouTube). You get a bit of my pain early on, and yes, I do end up teasing & taunting her into flipping (both ways!)
We have an OSCARTM party tonight so I will not be able to post any video, with any luck tomorrow I will get something cut. Anyhow, beyond that the whole family went for a walk today, as it has been quite mild. We have also had snow 3 of the last 4 days and I am officially sick of winter, it can disappear any time now!
In the spirit of the Oscars, we finally got around to seeing a few movies and I quite enjoyed The Departed and Cars. I slept through The Illusionist, although Cara says it's great... I am hoping to see Flags of Our Fathers and For Your Consideration soon too... We had parent teachers recently, and survived without losing a limb.
I gave Teresa belly time and then ran for quick pit stop at the oval office, at most one minute, and when I returned she was lying happily on her back!
I tried again today to get video in vain... Grrr....
Anyhow, Teresa rolled over the other way for the first time today, and even though I filmed her for over one and a half hours, she flipped over when I was NOT filming! AAARGH!
Therefore I have instead a cute video of Rowdy watching TV. We have always noticed that when he can hear a dog bark on the TV he pays attention, but when a dog is actually on the screen he watches intently. In the past he has sniffed bums and licked the screen... The Westminster Kennel Club was like doggie TV crack for him...
No need for a family pass here, Cara is OK with this video being public. Note Teresa being happy & cute kicking away in her chair at the start.
Just a quick note. Teresa has not rolled over since her first time. Cara reminded me of when we went to Phil & Lindsay's a day after Noah rolled for the first time. Lindsay kept prodding him to do so, but he did not replicate the feat for about 2 weeks. Anyhow, when I can I will get video, but don't hold your breath on that front!
2 things: To not distract her we didn't talk much so I figured I would put in background music (Orange Sky by Alexi Murdoch).
2 - In order to view this you need to sign up to YouTube and then message me (kjyost) using their messaging feature. I then need to put you in my friend list. You then need to accept this. all in all it will take at least a day. If you choose not to, You will not be able to see the video (It will read "Loading" forever). Sorry for the problems, but this keeps the videoes more private than they were before and I do not need to worry about server space on my end!
Well, I finally got to feed Teresa solids today as Cara decided that one feeding in the morning is enough. Teresa ate almost two full ounces this morning. Of course I do have to wonder why we consider that sort of food 'solid' as it is mush, but hey!
Teresa still hasn't rolled over for me without aid, and I have been trying to get video of it... Boo!

Cara called me at work to let me know... Apparently without any help of grabbing on stuff and then she stayed there happily for two minutes before she decided to not be on her belly...
Seeing as some people don't believe in buying a new computer every decade and run Win98 (actually I do too :), I have found out that QuickTime does not support my movies on a Win 98 machine. As such, I will try to use YouTube now for this one and await feedback...

We bought a high chair this weekend, so we could try to feed her solids. The doctor said it was OK, but it is best done in the morning, in case of allergic reactions.
Apparently she ate 2 Tbsp of rice cereal is seconds, and just opened up like she's been doing it forever. Of course, I was at work and I won't be able to witness this until Thursday. This has me deeply saddened, but maybe I can get Cara to film using the tripod :)
The twice spurned, once orange, plush toy of memories was removed from his glass enclosure to share himself with another generation... As always it was documented.
